YouthMAX Event: leadership skills for youth from the John Maxwell Team

Today's youth often struggle with identity, fear of failure, bullying and a need for strong personal character. From May 6-12, the John Maxwell Team presents YouthMAX, a free worldwide youth leadership event designed to give today’s youth practical tools and ideas to help them navigate life in four key areas.

"Bullying, failure, low self-image and poor character decisions are at the heart of many of the challenges facing young people today. We've decided to do something about it...."

~ Paul Martinelli, president of the John Maxwell Team.

In partnership with local schools and youth organizations, certified John Maxwell Team speakers will deliver four presentations developed and taught by John C. Maxwell: Stand Up & Be Counted (Anti-Bullying), Learning to Fail Forward to Success, Developing a Positive Self-Image and Developing Strong Personal Character. The presentations are given at no charge for students ages 14 to 18 and are available to any youth organization or school group.

Visit www.YouthMAX.net to learn more or send an email to Michael@Leadingwithintent.com to request a presentation. Speaker availability is limited, so be sure to sign up or contact me early.

The History of Your Future – Virtual Seminar Topic for February 23rd

February 10, 2012 in Leadership, Motivation, Personal Growth, Successful Living

I'm really excited to announce this month's topic for the virtual seminar: "The History of Your Future" presented by Rick Krug, a fellow Founding Partner, Teacher and Coach with the John Maxwell Team. Join us on Thursday, February 23rd at 9:00 PM EST by calling (712) 432-0900 and entering 252039 # as the access code.

THE HISTORY OF YOUR FUTURE:

Every child has been asked at some time in their lives, "What do you want to be when you grow up?"

When we do grow up, we get asked, "Where would you like to be in 10 years?"

What if we were asking the wrong questions here?

Instead of asking about the future, what if we explored the past? Not the actual past, but the past as if you were already in the future.

This is not a metaphysical exercise of imagined inner discovery, but a real plotting of a true pathway for your success. Many people literally change their entire future by creating a highly detailed mental picture of a preferable future. Could you live the future you dream of by doing the same?

Join us on Thursday 2/23 at 9:00 PM as we show you how to discover the History of Your Future

This post is about how commitments can make or break you, their importance and how they can impact your life's journey. Mine certainly have shaped my life.

Commitments are major intentional decisions that we make at specific times in our lives that, if managed on a daily basis, help us to stay on a specific desired path.

We all have something or someone we are committed to. The question is not whether we're going to commit to something, but rather Read the rest of this entry →
